Five books to transform your Faith as a woman. I love reading all kinds of books: fiction, biographies, and personal growth books. However, as a Christian woman who has lived in many cultures, books helped me connect with my culture back home.
But some of the books I read transformed my life in the toughest of times. Books that helped me grow in Faith and helped me change my life and relationship with others. I hope this list will help you as well.

Here are my criteria for the books that changed my Faith.
- I got closer to God.
- Read it multiple times.
- Saw a transformation in my life.
These five books did all of that, and I’ve continued to read them multiple times through the years.
Here is the first book to transform your Faith, and it’s probably the most obvious.
The Bible
I included the Bible on the list because many Christians don’t take the time to read it. However, it’s the cornerstone of our Faith and life as Christians.
The Bible provides instruction, guidance, comfort, and hope. It also contains Jesus’s direct words to us.
Words like,
“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
The words of Jesus give us the wisdom we need to grow in our Faith.
Did you know the effects of reading your Bible? This is from Lifeway Research.

When I read my Bible daily, my life and relationships get better.
Honestly, I have more patience when I read my Bible and journal than when I don’t. And if I go a week without reading it and journaling, it’s like I turn into a stress monster.
The next books to transform your Faith as a Christian woman is,
Battlefield of the mind
This book by Joyce Meyers teaches how thoughts can and do change your life. That the battles in your life can be won or lost by the thoughts you think.
This amazing book was written in 2008, it’s been around a long time but it’s one of the best Christian books I have ever read.
It gives practical ways of applying the word of God to your life.
She also talks about lies that we believe can direct our daily lives and relationships.
This book is so good, and they have a kids’ and teens’ version as well, which is lovely. The kid’s version is as good, if not better than the original for adults.
How it changed my life.
As I read it, I recognized patterns in my thinking that needed to be changed. And lies I believe about my life that weren’t from God. As I started to put into practice the teaching in the book, I noticed relationships I had started to change for the better.
On a personal note, I have also visited one of Joyce Meyer’s ministries in Asia. A vocational center for women and girls who have been exploited. It could be a model care center to help share Christ’s love with women who have been sexually abused. They restore dignity and share Christ’s love. This helped me to know she practiced what she preached.
Joyce Meyers also has an incredible testimony of healing and forgiveness.
The next on books that can transform your faith as a woman is a small book on prayer.
Scripture Confessions Collections
Written by Keith Provance and Megan Provance in 2009. It’s a hidden gem of a book.
The title is a great description of the book. It’s just scriptures turned into prayers for your life.
When I first read this book, praying scripture over my life was a pretty new idea for me. I didn’t know how to do it and I was struggling trying to find my place back in America and starting a new ministry.
I had just moved back to the United States from a decade in missions and started working with victims of human trafficking. Trying to find my barrings I came across this book.
It gave me comfort and peace. The days that I read the prayers, I could sense and see them being answered. Here is a quote from “I will not give up” chapter,
“Even though I may be surrounded by oppressors, I am never smothered or crushed by them I may suffer embarrassments and become perplexed, and it may seem that there is no way out, but I will not be driven to despair”
You can see how when struggling in my life these prayers gave me such hope. And Faith, in those times when I didn’t even know what or how to pray.
Now, the next one is a book I have read so many times. It’s a classic of Christian literature for those who believe in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Pulling Down Strongholds
This book is the pocket edition published by The Derek Prince ministry in 2013, based on sermons he wrote.
“As a citizen of the kingdom of God through faith in Christ, you are automatically at war with the kingdom of Satan.”
So many times, when we accept Jesus into our hearts and believe he is our Lord and Savior, our Faith stops there, but our understanding of Spiritual warfare is limited. This book is a great teacher.
Explaining spiritual warfare and how it affects our daily lives as Christians.
When I read the book, it had those “Ah ha” that explain a lot. Then you can put into practice the things you read. It’s well-written, simple to understand, and easy to put into practice what you read. It can reveal things that need change and give you the tools to change them spiritually.
The last and final of books to transform your faith is,
Breakthrough: Prophecies, Prayers & Declarations
Shawn Botz wrote this in 2019 as part of a two-part series. The 2nd book Provision (Prophecies, Prayers & Declarations Book 2)
This book radically changed my life, prayers, and beliefs as a Christian.
I heard about this book through my mom, who LOVES watching Christian TV. I’d gone to a conference where Shawn Botz was a speaker, and it was great. So, I ordered the book and started reading the prayers and declarations over my life.
The only thing was that I’d been raised in an environment where lack and sacrifice were from God, and increase and blessing were not. To the point of not believing that God wants to bless us, which is ridiculous looking back on it.
I am not talking about the prosperity doctrine, where you give to get.
The idea that God wants and loves to bless his children.
So, as I read the prayers and declarations, it made me uncomfortable.
But I truly felt God prompting me to read them. Then, I felt prompted to read the book daily for one year. I did, and my heart and mind started to change, my finances changed, and my attitude and how I saw myself changed. Reading this radically changed my life and perspective.
This books had a profound impact on my life and beliefs. In reading these books I saw real and lasting change from God in my life. I hope and pray this post blesses your life and you are able to read books that change your heart and help your relationship to God to be closer.
I would love to hear from you about books that have changed your life.
